What should i do as a highschool student to prepare for a career as a dental hygenist?

Internships are helpful.

Contact a dentist that you know or someone knows a lot about this to give you more insight on it.

Know what you're going to put yourself through because some people don't know what's coming so it's great to ask questions.

Definitely talk to your guidance counselor. They are there for a reason which is to guide you.

There's a book by the college board about careers and what courses you might have to take in college. I looked at it and it was really helpful. You should try that as well.

I hope I helped!

As a high school student, at this point you can research the different steps required for that position online. And after you see and look at all your possibilities you can make a educated decision. If thats really your passion and you already don't have foundational dental knowlegde right now while your in high school I say read up on dental terms are you local library, like the numerical markers for each tooth. Just stop into your local dentists office and ask your dentist over your next cleaning what to do. You may want to take advantage of the resources in your community. I hope I helped..............Lastly make sure you look at the big picture not just what directly infront of you, some schools will try to just get your for your money. Be Blessed
