How much does a Dental Hygenist with a Associate's degree make? How many hours do they work?

%26lt;%26lt;Your pay will depend on where you live%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt; AND usually starts at 26- 30 dollars per hour and up with a raise often,,depending on your work,,,at least here in Michigan,,the hours depends if you are the only Hygentist in the office and how many hours they work%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;my office is open for about 25-30 hours per week%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;which at a good salery, adds up%26lt;%26lt;%26lt; Just think of it this way,,,if you want a lot of hours,,apply at a office that is open longer hours,,if not get into one that has less hours.GOOD LUCK

go to www.salary.com they can tell you what they make in your area.
Reply:www.payscale.com can give you a better idea of exactly what the pay rates are in your area.

I'm in Pitsburgh, PA and starting rate here is $24/hr but it's not uncommon to make $30/hr. Some dentists pay by how many patients you see in a day, though. I stay away from those offices because I can't control if a patient cancels on me... and then I don't get paid!

As for the hours... It's not uncommon for a hygienist to work part-time, but almost full time (like 36 hours a week). Some places do this to keep from paying medical benefits. If you want a full time job, you can find one but it's a little harder; and if you want a part time job (20 hrs or so) you can pretty much pick where you want to work. This is a wonderful field, though, because it's not difficult to find a job and there aren't the crazy shifts like -midnights and holidays- that nurses work.
