I want to become a dental hygenist, what should I major in?

I am a dental assistant right now, but I want to pursue my a career in becoming a dental hygenist, I want to know what is a good subject to major in, and what is a good JC to go to?

Reply:you could major in biology, psychology, biomedical engineering...anything actually, but you have to be a pre-dental. then go to dental school.
Reply:At certain schools, you can major in Dental Hygiene. If you can't get that major, then do Biology or some major where you can get your prerequisites for Dental Hygiene school. Try and find out what the pre-req's are and fulfill them. I know that University of Louisiana at Monroe have a good Dental Hygiene program. Dental Hygiene is a very good field, I have two friends going into it and I also thought about doing it. Salaries are very good and so is the job growth for this career, so good luck! P.S.
