Look on the US government national data website. Search for "US government job data" and you will probably find the website i am talking about. In mass DHY make about 40- 50,000. More for a BS and not just an AS and more if the DHY is certified to give local anestesia.
There are not many schools in mass or around NE that teach DHY. If you are interested apply now. It took me 3 years to get into a school. And i have a BS in something else.
There are community colleges and only 2 private schools that teach DHY - mass college of pharmacy and Mount Ida. Search the ADA website for the listing of schools.
Search yahoo for "ADA list of dental hygiene programs by state"
Almost impossible to get into schools. Also NH has only 1 public school that teaches it so they dont accept out of staters same with VT and CT is hard to get into too.
I had to go out of state Un Maine Augusta to finally get in somewhere.
You have to have several prerequistes JUST to APPLY to all the schools. Most want bio 1, 2 %26amp; Chemistry 1, 2 and Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2 and Medical microbiology completed BEFORE you apply. And even then about 100+ qualified people apply every year in MA to all the schools (last year Mount Ida had more than 1,000 applicants). And each school takes only 20-25 people PER YEAR. You can only apply for fall semester because all of the schools only teach the classes once a year and you must follow a specific sequence of classes. Good luck if you want to become a DHY.
How much do Dental Hygenist earn in MA?
