just doing some research!
i dont want to be in school forever!!!!!!!!
What is a better career...Elementary School Teacher or Dental Hygenist?
To become an elementary school teacher, you'll need a bachelor's degree and teacher's certification. You will also probably need to get a master's degree, but that depends on the state. Many do want you to get one, but they'll hire you first and just expect you to obtain one within 5 years or so. So all together, that is around 6 years after high school.
To become a hygienist, it is just two years after high school (it is an associate's degree), but you need to take certain science prerequisites like a chemistry course with lab.
As for income, hygienists can usually expect to make between $30-50/hour (great pay for an associate's degree!) but you may have to work for more than one dentist to get up to 40 hours a week, since many don't work full-time.
A teacher works full time and tends to get good benefits and LONG vacations, but most salaries are quite low...I'd say between $17,000-35,000.
Of course, you will only succeed at a job that you love and that challenges you. Teaching and hygiene are quite different, so you'll probably want to shadow or observe a lot to see which you like better. Good luck!!
Reply:That only you can answer.
The only thing they have in common is both are very close to people so always make sure you don't have bad breath
