Dental student looking for hygenist work?

I was wondering are there any dentists who would hire 4th yr dental student as a hygenist to earn some extra cash?

Dental student looking for hygenist work?
Depends on the state...

Some states like Massachusetts allow it, some don't.. Check with your state's dental board and see what their policy is.

Personally, I was loathe to give up my weekends while I was in dental school-- It was the only time I can catch up with all the required reading! :-P
Reply:In Texas, hygienists have to be licensed just like dentists. So, a student would not be licensed to do hygienist "work." Even a dentist who has already graduated but failed the dental state board test to get licensed cannot practice dentistry in Texas, let alone a 4th year student.
Reply:I am sure you know that dentists and hygenists are two different tracks. But I do have an idea. How about hiring out to do some lab work? I bet either a lab or some dentists would do that. I know some who did. And then you have the lag time before state boards to work. I suppose you could be a dental assistant.
