Whats my next step in becoming a dental hygenist? High School Junior?
Hahaha, you said 'collage'.
Reply:well, you might wanna get an associates degree at ur community college (2yrs) and make sure to take some "medicine" electives. When u transfer over to a univ., you can be any kind of doctor if u want.

Or, you can get a "workforce"/trade certificate also at a community college or business school, and be a dentist assistant
Reply:You need to go to a community college. They offer programs for Dental Hygiene specifically. And eventually you will have to take several exams like Infection Control, Radiology, and the National Boards to become a certified Dental Hygienist. The programs usually have a long waiting list, so I'd apply your senior year.
Reply:Call you local college NOW and find out what you need. They can send you a brochure about the classes you'll need and put you on a wait list if they have one.

Take:

biology

chemistry

Anatomy

algebra

Microbiology

take these classed if your high school offers them. and you will be ahead of the game.

Also college English comp 1
Reply:There are some universities that have a major in dental hygiene. That means you can do your four years of college and become a dental hygienist all in one. I know USC has this program, not sure about other schools.

Dental hygienists work under dental supervision. They have more privileges/responsibilities than dental assistants such as ability to give injections etc. They are well respected and earn a good amount of money.
Reply:Hygienists work for Dentists [they are the ones that actually clean your teeth]

I am in a Dental Hygiene program in Ohio , and all i had to do was

*Graduate Highschool

*Take the ACT

*Take English, Chemistry, Algebra, Biology

(all of the Prerequisites, and get As in them)

*Find a school that offers a Dental Hygiene Program and APPLY!!!!!

the program that i am in is a 5 semester program... so it's about 2 years, and you earn an Associates Degree.

After you get that, and pass your boards...you should be set to go!
