so i want to be a dental hygenist but what are my chances of going to iraq? or what other jobs are good that would benifit me when i get out
Well ia want to have a job in the navy that will benifit me when i get out?
Your chances are fairly low. And any job i nthe medical feilds woudl benifit you. People are always gonigto need dental hygenists ,nurses, etc.
Reply:Suprisingly, what many people don't know is that many soilders never end up in Iraq. Also, many that go never have to fire their guns. But don't base your decision on me.
Reply:If you can't go to college immediately after high school, you can show the colleges that you took initiative and that you are responsible by joining the navy. The job doesn;t matter, but that will boost your chances of getting into college.
Reply:Go for something in the computer field that seems to be the way of the future.
Reply:Doing that your going to be on a ship so does it matter were the ship is?
Reply:navy.com bro...or a recruiter
Reply:Well the Navy does have dental techs not sure they truly transition over to Dental Hygienist. you may still have to take some college when you get out of the Navy or the best bet would be to get them while serving.
As for deploying you run that chance no matter what. Unless you get stationed at a location that is non deployable.
Best bet to find out what jobs translate into the civilian section would be go and speak to the Navy recruiter. They will be the best ones to answer that question.
Reply:I did 10 years as an Electronics Technician (Communications) for subs. Good field. The key is to soak up everything you can while youre in. A lot of guys will goof off. Remember why your there. Have fun but get the knowledge they give you and just learn as much as you can.
Reply:any of the techincal jobs computer, aircraft maintence and the like translate into the government and private industry very quickly.
Civilians do the major refit and ovrehaul of aircraft and with today's computer systems fields are wide open
Reply:medical will alwasy be needed.. also think about the nuclear reactor program also... but overall most service manitiance and repair fields are always a good thing
Reply:There are approx 150,000 US soldiers in Iraq, and they all have teeth. Take it from here.
