Does anyone know if it is possible (Read below for more info)?

for an 11 year old to be getting his wisdom teeth? When we were at the dentists office about 3 months ago, the dental hygenist said she saw his wisdom teeth on the x-ray and they were ready to come through. Now my son is complaining of pain in the back of his mouth. Please Help!! serious answers only! Thanks in advance.

Every mouth is different. Your dental hygienist has enough education to read an X-ray. If your child is having pain make an appointment with your dentist. They may need to be surgically extracted (if your lucky there just a simply extraction)

It is in the time frame for your child to get there 12 year molars but if your child's wisdom teeth are impacted it could be causing pain even if there not ready to come out for years.

I was only born with my two upper wisdom teeth they are vertically impacted so if they ever decide to push I'll be in pain and needing a visit to the surgeon.

Good luck!

Call your dentist. Get a new set of x-rays and try to make your child comfortable. Warm salt water swishes, Tylenol (amount appropriate for your child) warm a washcloth put it in a zip lock bag and have your child put it on the area. not to hot that your child will get burned or you can also place a washcloth or kitchen towel between the bag and the cheek.
Reply:It could very well be. Try talking to the dentist.
Reply:It would be really rare, could it be his 12 yr old molars? They can cause soreness also. Does he already have 2 molars (larger) on either side?
Reply:Yes. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth cut out when I was 13 years old. I had been having pain for several months prior to that. When I finally went to the dentist, my bottom wisdom teeth were fully developed but were turned completely on their sides; my top wisdom teeth were also fully developed and had pushed most of the way through. They were also turned slightly. The surgery was pretty hard on me, especially being that young ... but the upside was that my permanent teeth didn't end up being as crooked as they could have been!
Reply:no it is not ok.
Reply:yes in fact my dentist said the same thing, its not unnormal actually,

also it take wisdom teeth a while to grow, so he shouldnt be getting them takin out for a while, really if were you i wouldnt worry, its normal!
Reply:a persons wisdom teeth can be seen even at age ten, but only with an x-ray it means they are inside your jaw bone, and it takes many years for them to erupt, so maybe the pain is something else, or it coud be the second molars wich regularly erupt at age 12.
